Ezoic Review 2021: +28% | Pros & Cons

This Ezoic review is about the website: Name Picker which is another website of us where we are using Ezoic for 6 months. This website was easier to compare the revenue since we only used Google Adsense before. We moved from Adsense to Ezoic in March 2020.

We are very happy with our partnership and results, so we would like to share our experience with Ezoic in this review. Comment Picker is also moved from another advertisement company and Adsense to Ezoic, where we also had great improvements in revenue as well since the switch to Ezoic.

What is Ezoic?

Ezoic is an advertisement company that uses AI and machine learning to increase the revenue of publishers for their advertisement. Ezoic is a Google Certified Publishing Partner.

Ezoic setup

After creating an Ezoic account, the first thing you have to do to start monetization feature is switching your name server to their name servers, which can be hard for non technical people. We also had to whitelist a huge list of their CDN IP addresses in our server to make sure the firewall are not blocking the requests. We had some troubles making this happen, but eventually we manage to make it work (with their help as well).

Ezoic Pros

  • Increases in revenue
  • Great support and help
  • Caching and CDN
  • No more worries about where to place ads
  • Awesome tools within the dashboard (pagespeed, privacy)

Ezoic Cons

  • Setup via name server
  • Some issues with setup (which were fixed quickly)
  • Information about how tools are working is missing or unclear sometimes

Ezoic vs Adsense

We have compared monthly revenue of Ezoic vs Adsense in this Ezoic review. The numbers you see is the revenue per 1000 sessions. The website has between 20K and 100K sessions monthly.

Adsense

December 2019: € 3,43
January 2020: € 3,32
February 2020: € 5,42

Ezoic

The revenues below are compared to the best month February 2020 from Adsense

March 2020: € 6,37(+17.5%)
April 2020: € 6,83(+26%)
May: € 6,51 (+20%)
June 2020: € 7,54(+39%)

On average you can see a growth of +28% in revenue if you compare Ezoic with Adsense. We should take into account the seasonality of advertisement and Covid-19, which make this growth in our case even better.

Ezoic Premium Review

After 4 months we got a notification on our dashboard that we could apply for Ezoic Premium. Ezoic Premium is a subscription model where you have to pay in order to join the Premium program. Paying for publishers looks strange, but after a nice call with them we decided to start the 14 day free trial. After seeing 10 days of great revenue, we decided to continue the premium subscription.

After 2 months Ezoic Premium we did see an huge increase in revenue for all websites. Ezoic Premium did not hurt the ‘normal’ revenue in our case and even increased it. This can be different for other websites I guess.

Adsense vs Ezoic premium

The revenues below are compared to the best month February 2020 from Adsense vs Ezoic premium

July 2020: € 10,10(+86%)
August 2020: € 10,40 (+92%)

Since we having multiple websites in our Ezoic premium dashboard and the payment of the premium subscription is per account, it’s hard to compare the difference for this specific website.

We did compare the costs with the revenue of Ezoic premium:

July 2020: +65% ROI
August 2020: +55% ROI

On average this is a 60% increase which is $0.60 profit on each dollar that the Ezoic premium subscription cost.

Is Ezoic Premium worth it? Yes, for us it is definitely worth to join Ezoic premium subscription plan. This will probably depending on the niche that your website is in, but overal you will never lose anything by joining.

How to join Ezoic?

We can’t find any qualifications to join Ezoic on their website, but we read on other website that you need to have an approved Adsense website and at least 10K monthly visitors.
